It’s not about the clothes. It’s about standing in front of the mirror… and not flinching.

It’s not about the clothes.
It’s about standing in front of the mirror… and not flinching.

When I first opened the boutique, I assumed most women had it all figured out.
They looked so confident, so polished—so sure of themselves.

Meanwhile, I felt like I was still figuring it out.
At this age. In this season.
With a body and life that didn’t look the way it used to.

But it didn’t take long to realize:
Almost every woman feels this way at some point.
We just get really good at hiding it.

One day, I watched something I’ll never forget.

Carrie came in and kept looking at this one dress.
But she didn’t try it on.

I could tell the stories running through her head—because we all have those same stories.
“It’s probably too young.”
Then: “Maybe too much.”
Then: “My kids might not like it.”
Then: “My husband wouldn’t care for it.”

A thousand silent stories, piling up between her and the mirror.

That’s when another woman—one she barely knew—gently said:
“Try it on.”

So she did.

She stepped out of the fitting room… and three other women turned around and gasped.
“Wow.”
“That’s stunning on you.”
“You look beautiful.”

And just like that, the story changed.

The dress wasn’t too young.
Or too much.
Or too anything.

It was hers.

And I’ll bet the woman who looked at herself before she stepped out of the fitting room…
Wasn’t the same woman who stepped back in.

She saw herself differently.
We all did.

That’s the power of being surrounded by women who see you.
That’s the kind of magic I’ve seen again and again inside cYou.

So if you’re standing in front of the mirror and flinching—
You’re not alone.
But maybe, just maybe… it’s time to try it on anyway.

You’re beautiful.
You’ve earned this season.
Show up for it. ✨
